Lithuanian Soprano Rusne Tuslaite is an alumna of the Royal Academy of Music. She made her Lithuanian National Opera debut at the age of seventeen as a winner of the television song contest ‘Dainu dainele 2016,’ and was the Royal Opera House Emerging Artist at their Youth Council Steering Group in 2021. 

 

Her recent operatic engagements include the roles of Rosalinde in Strauss's 'Die Fledermaus' (St Paul's Opera), Cretan woman in Mozart's 'Idomeneo' (Brunswick Vocal Arts), Fiordiligi (cover) in Mozart's 'Così fan tutte' (The Grange Festival), Lidochka in Shostakovich’s ‘Cheryomushki’ (Welsh National Opera), Chief hen and Woodpecker in Janáček’s ‘The Cunning Little Vixen’ and Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s ‘Le Nozze di Figaro' (both with Hampstead Garden Opera). She has worked with companies such as the Glyndebourne, the Clonter Opera, the Random Opera and made her debuts at the Wales Millennium Centre, the BBC Proms and the Edinburgh International Festival. Rusne has also previously worked with the London City Orchestra and conductor Thomas Payne on Strauss' 'Vier letzte lieder' as a cover soloist for soprano Nadine Benjamin MBE. She actively performs and takes part in festivals in Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Austria, France, Italy and Belgium.

 

Rusne is a member of the ISM and has a full DBS check as well as the LRAM teaching licence. With extensive piano and drums experience she is confident in offering home and online lessons to any age group, level or background. Her recent student achievements include a CD album release, performances at the Voice Kids UK, the Garsington Youth Opera as well as admissions to the highly competitive Musical Theatre course at the Royal Academy of Music Junior department.
